Madalyn is the only child of the Lady Alayne from Westport Manor. Her fayher was killed during the Drow invasion of Westport Manor. Her mother who at the time was working as a barmaid at the Hero’s Rest had planned to remarry after meeting a wealthy man from Alacanté despite the fact he was cruel to her just so Madalyn could have a better life than a barmaid could provide. They booked passage on a caravan and happened to share a wagon with Devon and Maya. The Dragon Highlord and his companion who had been posing as commoner who were newlywed took a liking to the mother and daughter. Madalyn quickly became attached to Devon who reminded her of her father. After Devon and Maya saved the caravan from raiders Mads and her her mother returned to Westport with Devon as their benefactor. Devon gave Madalyn a platinum pendant of a dragon in front of a starburst wreathed by lotuses which had been enchanted to allow Mads the ability to contact him and Maya should she ever find herself in danger. Madalyn, now nearly seven, looks forward to Devon’s visits especially when Auntie Maya is with him.
