Camille Soroyan or Cam as she prefers to be called is the Gold Dragon Queen’s closest adviser and friend. Because of her bond with Aliyeah, she was the original dragon charged with the duty of protecting Devon while in the dragon realm and continues to do so whenever the queen grows concerned for his safety. In any great battle she serves as the High Lord’s mount and counsel. During the War of the Bard, Cam served as his mount and guardian swearing to defend her queen’s consort and keep him from harm. However when an assassin fired a bolt of dragon slaying at the her it was Devon who sacrificed his life to protect her. Subsequently she has become insanely protective of him and cares for him deeply. She has taken on the role of mentor for him educating the human rogue on the customs and laws of their society. She is also protective of Jareth and is grateful to him for healing her during a coup attempt against Aliyeah. She is sometimes critical of the Lord Marshall because she “expects more” of him. She has an attraction to him as well. She is quite fond of Stallac and Gunther though Stallac’s occasional belligerence can test her patience. When her duties and station prevent her from travelling with Devon she appoints another Gold Dragon as protection for him in her stead.
