EVALISE (Child of Gunther and Abby)

Evalise was orphaned at the Esoterica Magica after she was born. The Magisters tell her her mother, dying from some unknown attack, brought her to the Esoterica, and passed shortly after arriving. The unnamed mother could not be healed magically or otherwise. Having rare golden eyes the baby was raised by the magisters who believed there was something special about her.

As Evalise grew the golden eyes dimmed into their current green hue. Younger students of the Esoterica picked on and bullied Evalise because they or their families had paid for them to attend and the orphan girl had been given a free magical education.

Evalise was an eager student but it wasn’t until a visiting instructor (Masahiro Mifune) came to the Esoterica that she found her calling. Mifune who had come from the far eastern land of Rakugan taught the art of polearm fighting and the skills that would make her a Duskblade. With his training she was able to combine the power of a magic with weapon fighting ability. When Mifune moved on from his teaching stint he left Evalise with new skills, a Naginata and a scroll to find him should she one day wish to follow the path of the sword saint.

Evalise did make some friends namely Cal, a bard who like her devoured knowledge and had a knack for getting into trouble, Arabess a Sorcerer with some fighting skills like her and the ability to get Cal out of trouble, An’ric a monk who trained alongside Mifune but preferred the staff to her Naginata, Salem a brutally honest and blunt sorcerer, and Nat who along with Cal tries to gain as much knowledge as possible but with less social skills.
