New York by Night is a gothic take on what our New York would look like in the World of Darkness. Think Gotham City from Batman, exaggerated gothic arcitecture and just a dark gloomier atmosphere. Unlike most other Camarilla cities, New York is like the Wild West with the Sabbat leaving for the Middle East leaving their domains open for the taking though some have remained behind, the Anarchs looking to push out of Staten Island after over a century of being forced into that corner by the Camarilla, and the rise of the Thin-Bloods.

As Vampires you also know that you are not the only big bad in the night as werewolves stalk Central Park along with other parts of the state and other supernaturals are said to roam the WOD as well.

As we begin the chronicle everyone is a childe of an older vampire and a member of the Camarilla. The Camarilla is an ancient Vampire Sect that enforces the Masquerade to keep it’s members safe from the human populace and hopefully keep another full blown Inquisition from happening again. In recent nights due to some unlucky circumstances a Second Inquisition has begun by the world governments. This has led to the Tremeres main chantry in Vienna being destroyed, every vampire in London being destroyed and cleared out and Sabbat and Anarch Vampire holdings being hit simultaneously leaving them diminished in power. ShrekNET, a vampire internet service was also hacked and a paranoid Camarilla has banned the use of all electronics for Camarilla buisness.

Things the PCs know

Mayor – Damien Thorne – has been seen after hours seperately with Prince Panhard and Boss Callihan.

Poilce – The PCs know there are cops on the payroll but not who they are or where they work.

Clean Up Crew – Again PCs know that there are people that clean up their messes but not who, Sheriff Qadir would be one of the ones to contact for this info, maybe the elders of their clans also have this info.

Banu Haqim – The PCs know that they were once known as the Assamites and were an unaffiliated clan until recent nights. They were accepted into the Camarilla and in short order have assumed positions of power within the Ivory Tower.

Brujah – Traitors, defectors, Anarchs, not trustworthy, these are some of the words to describe the Brujah in the current nights, if not for the Herald Jason Patrick Maslowe a former Harpy and coterie member of the Prince Hellene Panhard, the Brujah just might have been kicked out of the New York Camarilla completely but Maslowe maintains some power as a Herald of the Prince and has been able to keep a handful of Brujah loyal to the Camarilla and him within the city.

Gangrel – Anarchs, the Gangrel of New York are in smaller number then the Brujah and looked on as less then the Brujah but the ones that remain are the childer of hero of the Battle of New York Jezebelle and because of that are given the benefit of the doubt but their leash is short and Qadir is looking for a reason to expell them or send them to their final death.

Lasombra – Until recently the Lasombra were one of the mainstays of the Sabbat along with the Tzimice. With the Sabbat elders leaving en masse and the Second Inquisitions attacks the Sabbat have taken a major hit and the Lasombra are looking to join the Camarilla.

Nosferatu – Creaters of ShrekNET, it was that resource that was cracked that caused the Second Inquisition to find out more information then they ever have about the vampires. The Nosferatu also can claim the former Prince of the city as Calebros became Prince after the Battle of New York and the death of Prince Michaela. He abdicated after just two years as Prince and left Sheriff Qadir in charge of the city until Prince Panhard was chosen as new Prince three years later.

Toreador – Sheriff Qadir al-Asmai is a well respected vampire, not feared, not hated just respected. Made a name for himself as Sheriff for Prince Michaela and continued through the Battle of New York through Prince Calebros reign and now onto Prince Panhards reign. Thomas Arturo is currently a Herald for Prince Panhard but has also been a Harpy and a coterie member of the Prince and the Brujah Maslowe. His words carry much weight.

Tremere – Aisling Sturbridge is the current High Regent of the Chantry of the Five Boroughs. It is also known that the Main Chantry in Vienna was destroyed and the clan is in disarray.

Ventrue – The clan is led by the Prince of the city Hellene Panhard who is the childe of Michaela who was Prince during the Battle of New York. Elysium is also run by the Ventrue Winston as he keeps Madison Square Garden as the main venue and The Art Hole is considered the Princes town hall.

Anarchs – Boss Callihan is known to run the Anarch movement in New York and it is run from Staten Island. Long Island has also been claimed by the anarchs in recent nights but seem to be odds with Callihan.

Thin-Bloods – The Thin-Bloods usually shunned by the Camarilla have been sort of accepted by Prince Panhard if only to keep them from joining the Anarch movement. They are represented on the Princes council by Robert Larson.

Clan Giovanni – The clan of death are the bosses of the Italian crime families of New York.
